In-Home Consultation

IN-HOME CONSULTATIONS FOR DOGS:

These training sessions take place in the privacy of your home with one-on-one time with a trainer.  Your specific needs are addressed.  This normally lasts about 2 hours.  During this time, we can typically focus on 3 behaviors.  The trainer works with you, the trainer works with the dog and has you work with the dog.  You are given handouts and access to us via telephone for any questions you may have as part of the fee you pay.  A customized, written training plan is laid out and left with you so you understand what you need to do to resolve the issues you are experiencing.  We offer a 10% discount for dogs who are currently being fostered by non-profit groups, senior citizens, and retired/active duty military.  We offer additional discounts in our newsletter throughout the year.

There is a travel fee for all in-home consultations or follow-ups, which starts at $30.

Our rates vary from $70 to $175 per hour. Like any other profession, the longer you do something, the more you are paid. We feel that is fair, and we know you do too. Our trainers are all excellent but you will spend more to see Jemi with 30+ years of experience than you will a trainer with 8 years experience.

We assess each phone call and always try to match you to the trainer that best suits your needs. A quote will be given during your preliminary call.  So, your cost for a session lasting 2 hours can range from $170 to $380.  Our training is simple and you normally see results before we leave.  Training requires about 10 minutes a day for 7-14 days in most cases.  And, normally, we only need to see clients once.

Extra charges will be assessed and quoted for aggression.  This fee starts at $50 per in-home consultation.

People aggression, no medical required          +$50

People aggression, medical required              +$100

Dog on dog aggression, fighting with no medical required          +$50

Dog on dog aggression, fighting with medical required              +$100

In some dog aggression consultations, the trainer may wish to see you at her home so that the environment is controlled and there can be dogs introduced into the equation (her own personal dogs).  In this case, the travel fee is waived.

There is an additional $50 per dog charge for multi-dog households.  The first dog is included in the fee; the additional charge begins with the 2nd dog.

Make sure to talk to Julie or your trainer about our Board and Train option.  Available only to clients of ours!

IN-HOME CONSULTATIONS FOR CATS:

Cat consultations take place in the privacy of your home.  The trainer is normally there 1 hour.  The trainer can work on several behaviors during this time.  You are given handouts and access to us via telephone for any questions you may have.  There is a travel fee for all in-home consultations or follow-ups, which starts at   $30.  Our hourly rate is $140 per hour.  So, your cost for a session lasting 1 hour would be $170.  Normally, we only need to see clients once.

There may be additional fees for multiple cat households.

NOTE:  Hourly rates are subject to change on an annual basis.  We try to keep our website current but if in doubt, call the office for a quote.

What do clients say?

“My name is Mike and I wanted to express my gratitude for the help I received from Jemi.  I lost my beloved newf Bentley 2 yrs ago and thought I would never get another dog again but as fate would be I decided on a rescue Great Pyrenees.  Little did I know he would not go in a car this is why he was brought to me.  He showed signs of little socializing and fear.  Thinking I made a mistake and failing training classes, I was told of Jemi.  Within one session she overcame these faults and with great advice I now have a loving buddy and for the first time in weeks I am taking him places. THANK YOU JEMI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” from Mike Powell

“Terry is absolutely incredible! My husband and I are the proud new parents to our Swissy puppy, Puz. We were struggling with how to communicate appropriately to him. Our sweet pooch is very shy and timid of new things. Terry showed us how to communicate to him not to be afraid, without encouraging his nervous behavior. She showed us how to calm him in anxious situations. Terry made us feel so confident not only in Puz, but ourselves as new puppy owners. We are so thankful and cannot wait to get Puz in puppy classes!” from Brenna Houser
